Private Airport Transfers
A private transfer reserves the entire vehicle for your party. As soon as you clear customs and meet your driver, you leave.
Pros: Zero waiting time, direct door-to-door service, privacy, ability to ask the driver to stop at a supermarket (like New World or RB) for supplies on the way.
Best For: Families with young children, groups, or travelers heading to locations like Denarau Island, Nadi Hotels, Lautoka Hotels, the Coral Coast or Pacific Harbour or Suva and anywhere up to Rakiraki.

Family Travel: Car Seats and Availability
For families, safety is a priority. Fiji’s laws are more relaxed, the laws of physics remain the same. If you are traveling with infants or toddlers, you must plan ahead regarding car seats. Please enquire.
Are Car Seats Mandatory in Fiji?
Legally, enforcement is lax. However, reputable transfer companies understand the expectations of international travelers. Most standard taxis found at the airport rank will not have car seats available.
Booking a Car Seat
When making your nadi airport transfer shuttle booking, you must explicitly request car seats. Do not assume they will be in the van.
Availability: We usually have baby capsules, forward-facing seats, and boosters available for a small fee (approx. $10–$15 AUD)
BYO Seats: Many Kiwi parents opt to bring their own car seats. Most airlines allow you to check these for free. This ensures you trust the quality and history of the seat.

The Arrival Process at Nadi Airport
Understanding the layout of Nadi International Airport helps alleviate anxiety. Here is the step-by-step flow once you land:
Immigration: Have your passport and arrival card ready. Lines can be long during peak arrival times (mid-day).
Duty-Free: You will pass through duty-free before baggage claim. This is the best place to buy spirits and wine, as alcohol is expensive at the resorts.
Baggage Claim: Collect your bags. Porters are available but expect a tip.
Customs/Biosecurity: Fiji is strict on food. Declare everything.
The Arrivals Hall: Once you exit the frosted glass doors, you are in the arrivals hall. This is where the “meet and greet” happens.

Finding Your Driver
If you have pre-booked, look for the company logo (FISHING & ISLAND TOURS) or a driver holding a sign with your name. Tour operators have a dedicated waiting area straight ahead to the end of Nadi Arrivals area as you exit customs. Approach the driver who will guide you to your vehicle. Usually we create a whatsapp group with your driver before arrival so that you can get in contact with the driver in case of any confusion.
Your Pre-Departure Booking Checklist
To ensure your transfer goes smoothly, follow this checklist before you leave New Zealand:
Flight Details: Ensure your booking includes your correct flight number and arrival time.
Luggage Allowance: If you are bringing surfboards, golf clubs, or excessive luggage, notify the transfer company. Standard sedans cannot fit a surfboard bag; you will need a van.
Contact Number: Provide a mobile number that works (roaming) or WhatsApp contact so the driver can reach you if necessary.
Currency: While pre-booking handles the transport cost, have some small cash for tipping porters.
Confirmation: Save a screenshot of your booking confirmation in case you don’t have data immediately upon landing.
